Fitness Center Manager

Responsibilities:

The Fitness Manager will manage and conduct personal training sessions and group classes as well as coordinate IL, RC and HCC resident transitions from Rehab caseload.  

  • Assist in planning and evaluating of Fitness Center's operations
  • Assist in preparation of reports and records for management
  • Develop relationships with residents and staff to promote goodwill and generate increased utilization
  • Act as substitute for the Aquatics Manager, filling in if (s)he is out
  • Maintain positive staff and resident relationships, stimulate creativity and lead by positive example
  • Identify high risk residents, conduct fitness assessments, one-on-one personal training sessions and able to lead group exercise classes while maintaining high energy and enthusiasm level.
  • Implement & design wellness and fitness programs including health and fitness fairs and promotional activities including seminars, member incentive and retention programs
  • Supervise fitness equipment and exercise rooms, educating residents concerning safe exercise techniques and assisting members in equipment usage – explaining and demonstrating all equipment prior to initial use. 
  • Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all equipment and the Center. 
  • Adhere to departmental and organizational policies and procedures
  • Maintain excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be customer-service oriented while fulfilling all aspects of the job

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Health Education, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or in related health & fitness field

Valet

Responsibilities:

  • Moves residents’ cars to and from assigned parking spaces.
  • Participates in readiness preparation for facility contingency plans such as fire and disaster drills; evacuation of residents, visitors, and staff.  Must be prepared to assist in emergency situations.
  • Provides requested assistance to residents, providing service in a courteous and helpful manner.
  • Provides transportation within the facility including assistance to residents with special needs as requested.
  • Assumes duties assigned by security during an emergency.
  • Responsible for security keys during business hours.
  • Performs parking lot checks during business hours.
  • Must be able to handle all front desk operations independently.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Grounds Supervisor

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that grounds, walkways, driveways and parking areas are seasonally maintained in a park-like manner, including mowing; edging; snow, ice, and storm debris removal; fertilization; planting; and tree care.
  • Ensures grounds staff are appropriately and adequately trained and supervised.
  • Plans and implements grounds beautification programs in consultation with the Residents’ Grounds Committee.
  • Ensures a work plan is in place for each week throughout the year that maximizes staff productivity.
  • Oversees contractors when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of groundskeeping techniques and principles required. Must be a team player.
  • 5 years in operation and supervision of grounds beautification activities required. Golf Course Training is a plus.

Full Time Activity Assistant

Responsibilities:

Assist with the Health Care Center activity programs and provide an environment to maximize the psychosocial/physical well-being of every Resident by performing the following duties:

  • Abides by the Residents’ Bill of Rights in all resident interactions.
  • Assists with setup and clean up of program areas; organizes program supplies and areas.
  • Assists with directing volunteers who are assigned to an activity program.
  • Transports/escorts resident to and from activity programs and documents attendance.
  • Assists in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the residents’ daily activity programs.
  • Assists with day trips away from Roland Park Place and with planning and implementation of parties and special events.
  • Serve as group leader, when assigned, with energy and enthusiasm.
  • Work weekends and/or evenings as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Monitor levels of supplies & equipment and notifies manager when needed.
  • Assist manager, document resident activity interventions and progress in resident chart.
  • Completes resident initial assessments.

  • 1-2 years of college
  • Two (2) years in a geriatric setting (i.e., long term care facility, retirement community, or adult day care center) preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Flexible hours required, including the ability to work evenings and weekends.

Wait Staff

Responsibilities:

Provide quality and efficient food service to residents in elegant, formal "5-star" dining room setting. Set, serve and bus tables. Prepare beverages. Provide room service, as needed. Display friendly, courteous manner and enthusiasm as a team player.

Qualifications:

Candidates must be over 16 years of age. Must communicate well with elderly persons. Must possess the ability to read, to write legibly, and to speak clearly. Experience helpful, but not necessary. Training will be provided. Must receive an annual influenza vaccination. Must adhere to RPP's smoke-free campus policy.

Communications Co-Op Intern

Hours:  

Commitment is a minimum of 15 hours a week in the office and 5 hours a week assisting with investigating and developing original content for the Roland Park Place newsroom and social channels. Days and times are flexible and the co-op allows for flexibility with candidates who may also have another summer job.

 

Semester: Summer (June 1 – Sept. 15) 14 total weeks

Hours: 20 hours per week/280 hours required for stipend

Responsibilities:

Roland Park Place is looking for a smart, enterprising Intern for a 14-week summer co-op (or cooperative education experience) who can assist the Director of Marketing and Public Relations Manager with daily tasks and assist the larger team with ongoing projects and day-to-day undertakings. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, proactive and adept at independent research, self-sufficient, detail oriented, and creative and appreciative of both big and small projects.

College credit is available and this position offers a $500.00 stipend at the end of the co-op upon completion of required hours. Commitment is a minimum of 15 hours a week in the office and 5 hours a week assisting with investigating and developing original content for the Roland Park Place newsroom and social channels. Days and times are flexible and the co-op allows for flexibility with candidates who may also have another summer job.

This Co-Op is competitive as Interns at Roland Park Place produce real, usable work that will enhance their portfolios and offer tools which are relevant for careers in public relations and marketing within any industry. Projects are collaborative and interns are exposed to many facets of PR and marketing. The office is open-door, fun and enthusiastic. Interns are treated as staff with the same responsibilities and expectations, so they develop real-world and practical knowledge of how PR and marketing professionals work. The internship duties are also extremely tailored to individual interns’ professional interests, so there is opportunity to make the internship your own.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Director of Marketing and Public Relations Manager on day-to-day tasks and needs
  • Assist the Public Relations Manager on campaign and original content production, building news and multimedia stories
  • Collaborate with the RPP Marketing team on brainstorms and Monday Morning Marketing Meetings
  • Research topics and source information quickly and effectively to contribute to marketing strategies
  • Interview and work with Residents on story-based content for marketing and PR purposes

Possible Tasks and Duties Include:

  • Draft a variety of public relations and marketing materials, such as press releases, website copy, e-newsletter content, original articles and stories, etc.
  • Work with leadership to produce and manage original content for Roland Park Place’s social media profiles; contribute to social media planning and content development
  • Identify and pitch story opportunities about Roland Park Place, the community’s staff and Residents for its Stories Newsroom: http://rolandparkplace.org/news-stories/rpp-stories
  • Attend client/project meetings with other team members
  • Participate in a wide variety of public relations, marketing, communications and advertising initiatives
  • Assist with general office duties such as distributing mail, taking notes at meetings, making calls, taking photos, sending inter-office email, etc.
  • Assist in development of branding and marketing strategies
  • Assist in development of presentation and outreach materials
  • Research and update media contact lists
  • Projects as assigned, based on department needs and intern's interests

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (to include Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Bonus if familiar with Outlook, Publisher)
  • Coursework and/or experience in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, English and/or writing
  • Must understand a sense of urgency and over-communication with leadership
  • A great sense of humor, self-motivation, the ability to both collaborate with a team and work independently
  • Ability to manage several projects at once and manage time efficiently
  • An interest in media, news and marketing

RN/LPN: Health Services

Hours:  

Part-Time position 3:00pm - 11:00pm Will Alternate Holidays

Responsibilities:

Prepares, monitors and supervises the assignments of non-licensed nursing personnel. Oversees operations and activities of nursing services on assigned unit. Prepares, administers and documents all relevant data for medical records, departmental records related to resident care, MMDS, and quarterly documentation. Completes rounds on every resident on assigned unit. Notifies physician, nursing supervisor, and family/responsible party of changes in a resident's status. Monitors nutritional status, including monitoring of the dining room, tray distribution, and documentation of residents' meals. Maintains infection control standards in and/or on medication room, medication cart, treatment cart and nursing station desk area. Reviews previous shift from the preceding charge nurse. Completes current shift report on the 24 hour nursing report for the oncoming charge nurse. Follows and enforces policies, procedures and standards of facility, pharmacy and federal, state and local regulatory agencies. Assumes leadership in emergency situations, including medical emergencies, until relieved. Substitutes, as necessary, for the RN/LPN Supervisor and the Ambulatory Care Nurse. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required. TRAINING: Annual CPR certification is required. EXPERIENCE: Two years previous nursing experience highly desirable. Previous experience with gerontological nursing practice preferred. OTHER: Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse of Licensed Practical Nurse in Maryland. Minimum of 18 years of age. Strongly urged to receive Hepatitis B vaccine. Must receive an annual influenza vaccination. Must adhere to RPP's smoke-free campus policy.
