Director of Dining Services

Responsibilities:

Brief description of the job responsibilities:

Directs and coordinates food service activities by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Accountable for recognizing and responding to the dietary needs of residents and for all aspects of the Dining Services Department. Maintains good relationships with residents, staff, dietary consultants, vendors and residents' families and guests.

 - Assures that all department functions, including food production, preparation, storage, handling and sanitization are carried out effectively and efficiently according to regulatory agency guidelines.

- Assures that food produced is palatable and nutritious. Assures that trays are therapeutically accurate according to diet, and that food is served at the proper temperature in a neat and attractive manner.

- Maintains an emergency menu in cooperation with Consultant Dietician

- Prepares department budget and monthly food cost reports.

- Assures therapeutic diets are calculated and prepared according to physician's orders; coordinates efforts with Health Services staff to obtain all needed information.

- Assures a safe and sanitary environment in Dining Services for all residents, employees and visitors.

- Assures that all equipment in the Dining Services Department is cleaned and in proper and safe working condition.

- Implements a program to orient new employees; conducts and documents regular and ongoing training programs for all employees.

- Schedules employees for work in order to attain proper work flow to meet objectives.

- Maintains open communication and cooperates with all other departments in order to coordinate the Dining Services Department's role in providing a favorable physical, social and emotional environment for all residents.

- Evaluates performance, coaches and counsels employees utilizing the progressive discipline system; documents incidents and actions.

- Coordinates the continuous quality improvement process in the department.

- Collaborates with Activities staff to provide periodic themed dining experiences.

- Reviews and revises department policies annually.

- Oversees operations of all dining rooms and the Park Cafe to ensure resident, staff and visitor satisfaction.

- Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

A. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Food Service Management required. State approved food service supervision/sanitation program preferred.

B. EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years at department manager level required; experience in continuing care retirement communities and/or long-term health care facilities preferred.

C. OTHER: Must be able to carry a cell phone and respond in a timely manner. Must be able to work flexible hours.

Wait Staff

Location:

Float Pool staff must be able to work every other weekend

Responsibilities:

Provide quality and efficient food service to residents in elegant, formal "5-star" dining room setting. Set, serve and bus tables. Prepare beverages. Provide room service, as needed. Display friendly, courteous manner and enthusiasm as a team player.

Qualifications:

Candidates must be over 16 years of age. Must communicate well with elderly persons. Must possess the ability to read, to write legibly, and to speak clearly. Experience helpful, but not necessary. Training will be provided. Must receive an annual influenza vaccination. Must adhere to RPP's smoke-free campus policy.

Painter/Mechanic

Location:  

Baltimore, Md.

Hours:  

Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Makes minor repairs and paints throughout the building as needed.
  • Makes daily floor checks and replaces light bulbs as needed.
  • Assists mechanics with preventative maintenance projects.
  • Maintains various kinds of power equipment and manual tools.
  • Participates in emergency preparation for facility contingency plans, such as fire and disaster, evacuation of residents, visitors and staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must have the ability to learn mechanical functions.
  • Two to three years of experience working as a painter/mechanic or as a maintenance helper preferred.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age. Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

HCC Social Worker

Responsibilities:

Roland Park Place is seeking a HCC Social Worker to provide psychosocial support to its Health Care Center residents and their families. The candidate will facilitate effective communication between residents/families and RPP and serve as a key member on the Interdisciplinary Team. He/she will advocate for residents' rights and provide on-going in-service trainings for HCC staff.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in human services field; BSW, or LSWA licensure a must; MSW and LCSW-C preferred. Three (3) years of related experience in the human services field; at least two (2) years of experience working with the senior population required. Experience working with dementia programming and interventions is desired.

RN Supervisor - Full Time

Hours:  

Full Time

3:00 pm to 11:00 pm (40 hours per week)

Responsibilities:

- Provides oversight of facility, pharmacy, federal, state and local regulatory standards compliance

- Participates in licensure survey. Assists supervisory level personnel with orientation, coaching, training and development of staff. Provides feedback to staff as needed. Supervises all licensed and non-licensed clinical staff and assists with performance evaluations.

- Ensures compliance with Medicare via medical documentation, record keeping and medical management.

- Assists in managing acute medical emergencies for residents, staff and visitors. Communicates with doctor, family, responsible party, etc. as needed during treatment of resident.

- Maintains effective communications with residents, staff and visitors. Reports all relevant information to the Director of Health Services and Clinical Coordinator.

- Participates in nursing policy and procedure formation. Ensures compliance with policies, procedures and infection control standards.

- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing is required.

TRAINING:  Annual CPR certification is required.

EXPERIENCE: Five years general nursing experience is required. Two years previous experience in long term care environment is preferred. Previous Charge Nurse/Supervisory level experience is required.

OTHER: Must be currently licensed in Maryland as a Registered Nurse. Minimum of 21 years of age. Strongly urge to receive Hepatitis B vaccine.

Geriatric Nursing Assistant - Part Time

Part Time

11:00 pm to 7:00 am (Every other Weekend)

Responsibilities:

- Provides direct care for residents by bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting and maintaining hygiene.

- Maintains a safe environment for residents by ensuring that call lights are within reach of residents; response to call-light is prompt and completing rounds to check on residents.

- Observe resident well-being by taking, documenting and reporting changes in vital signs, blood pressure, weight, and reporting to Charge Nurse any observed change in resident's condition.

- Encourages residents' participation in structured activities. Transports residents to/from activities or appointments. Supervises residents during functions as required.

- Prevents cross-contamination of residents by careful hand washing and use of universal precautions in all patient care activities.

- Cleans up spills/wet areas; remove soil if necessary.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

EDUCATION: CGNA Certificate and State CGNA registration required. High School diploma or GED required.

TRAINING: Orientation class and annual attendance at Office of Health Care Quality in-service training are required.

EXPERIENCE: Previous experience with geriatric care highly desirable.
