Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Executive Chef

Location:

Hours:  

Full-time, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

Oversees all back of the house operations including, but not limited to, staffing, training, production and purchasing. Follows all federal, state and local regulations and guidelines for health care food services. 

 

A.    Follows appropriate safety precautions, is familiar with emergency preparedness   

         plans and is compliant with Roland Park Place policies/procedures regarding reports

         of employee accidents/incidents.

B.    Develops, implements and supervises the use of standardized recipes which include the

       necessary HACCP notifications.

C.    Insures that food production sheets are completed, maintains appropriate par levels, and

       determines utilization of unused portions.

D.   Responsible for raw food budget, purchasing, inventory, and food cost control.

E.    Hires, trains, supervises, schedules, evaluates, disciplines and directs culinary staff and

       stock clerk based on established job descriptions and RPP policies.

F.    Supervises the flow of food through the operation in conjunction with HACCP

       regulations.

G.   Orders food and supplies on a timely basis. Closely monitors the stock clerk in receiving

       and storing of stock. Monitors compliance with established fiscal and regulatory

       guidelines that relate to food handling, purchasing, storage, production and service.

H.   Informs Dining Services Director and/ or Human Resources of personnel and/or resident

       issues or concerns.

I.     Works in coordination with other members of the Dining Services management team, as well as associates from other departments, to provide systems and services that enhance the lives of RPP residents, staff and other stakeholders.

J.     Implements and audits systems that insure regulatory compliance with all federal, state and local codes.

K.   Conducts a monthly physical inventory of food, paper and chemicals.  Provides data to the Director of Dining Services, in an Excel spreadsheet format, by the 1st of each month.

L.         Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education: A.A. or B.S. degree in food service or hospitality management     preferred.  State approved food service supervision/sanitation program preferr Experience: 3 years management experience in a food service environment required.

Wait Staff

Location:

Float Pool staff must be able to work every other weekend

Responsibilities:

Provide quality and efficient food service to residents in elegant, formal "5-star" dining room setting. Set, serve and bus tables. Prepare beverages. Provide room service, as needed. Display friendly, courteous manner and enthusiasm as a team player.

Qualifications:

Candidates must be over 16 years of age. Must communicate well with elderly persons. Must possess the ability to read, to write legibly, and to speak clearly. Experience helpful, but not necessary. Training will be provided. Must receive an annual influenza vaccination. Must adhere to RPP's smoke-free campus policy.

Housekeeper I

Hours:  

Monday - Friday and every 4th weekend 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Responsibilities:

- Keep rooms and public area neat and clean.

- Vacuum floors, clean bathrooms, dust, wash windows, empty trash and clean stairways, elevators and laundry and utility rooms.

- Report damages and missing items to Lead Housekeeper or Director of Facility Services.

Qualifications:

- High School diploma or GED required.

- Previous experience in housekeeping techniques helpful, but not required.

- Must receive an annual influenza vaccination. Must adhere to RPP's smoke-free campus policy.

Line Cook

Hours:  

Full Time

Responsibilities:

Follows production sheets to prepare food following standardized recipes and
federal, state and local guidelines in regard to food handling, food storage and sanitation.

Prepares food following federal, state and local guidelines in regard to food handling food storage and temperatures.

Prepares special mechanically altered and/or nutritionally altered diets.

Properly cleans and sanitizes work areas and equipment according to the Cook’s Sanitation checklist; keeps work area organized.                            

Plates food according to order tickets from both main dining room and health care dining room.

Portions food properly according to special requests and to government guidelines.

Acts as lead cook on the line during dinner service.  Supervises Prep Cook.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED required. 
 
Must be able to learn food service production and sanitation guidelines.
 
Experience in food service industry as a cook preferred.
 
Healthcare Aide

Hours:  

Part time

Responsibilities:

Follows all federal, state and local guidelines and regulations for health care food service, including sanitation regulations.
 
Adheres to all RPP and Departmental policies and procedures.
 
Prepares room trays and assures accuracy according to departmental specifications.
 
Set up tables and serve meals in the Chesapeake Dining Room. Provide a level of service equal to that found in the John Short and RC dining rooms.  This includes, but is not limited to, use of proper service etiquette, choice of menu selection at the point of service and interaction with residents, guests and staff that is welcoming.
 
Prepares and delivers nourishments and floor stock to nursing staff.
 
Resets dining room for next meal according to the dining room diagram.  This includes verifying that each resident has what they need to begin the next meal (adaptive equipment, straws…)
 
Ensure the service area is clean and reset according to departmental specifications.
 
Cleans service area and work area in accordance with sanitation checklist and guidelines.
 
Assists with preparation of salad bar items as assigned by the Garde Manger Chef.
 
Perform other duties as requested by a residents family members or a member of the RPP leadership team
 

Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Minimum 10th grade education required. HS diploma or GED preferred.  Must be at least 16 years old.  
 
EXPERIENCE: Food service experience preferred but not required.

Food Server

Hours:  

Part time

Responsibilities:

Follows all Roland Park Place and Dining Service Department rules and policies, including sanitation guidelines.
 
Performs all assigned opening duties in accordance with the wait staff training manual and posted assignments.
 
Provides service to residents in accordance with the wait staff training manual.  Duties include:  presenting menu, answering questions, and observing diners to respond to additional requests and determine when meal is completed.
 
Resets tables for next meal and performs all closing duties in accordance with the wait staff training manual.
 
Completes room service and pick up orders as required.  Assists in the set up of special functions when needed.  Performs other duties as directed by managers on duty.

Host/Hostess

Responsibilities:

Follows appropriate safety precautions, is familiar with emergency preparedness plans and is compliant with Roland Park Place policies/procedures regarding reports of employee accidents/incidents.

Follows all Roland Park Place and Dining Service Department policies and procedures including sanitation guidelines.

Answers the Dining Room phone, takes reservations and orders for Room

Service and pick-up orders. Maintains clear and timely lines of communication for all reservations and orders.

Welcomes all customers to the dining room in an inviting manner.  Verifies reservations and leads customers to their seats.

Observes service operations and assists with addressing customer needs and/or operational challenges.

Assists in the set-up of special functions when needed.

Maintains Dining Room Attendance records and updating of resident charge accounts in the Millennium software system.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION: HS diploma or GED preferred.
   
EXPERIENCE: Food service experience preferred.
 
OTHER: Must be able to read, write legibly, speak clearly and follow written and oral directions.
 
RN - Health Services

Hours:  

Part Time

3:00pm to 11:00pm

every other weekend

Responsibilities:

Prepares, monitors and supervises the assignments of non-licensed nursing personnel.  Oversees operations and activities of nursing services on assigned unit.
 
Prepares, administers and documents all relevant data for medical records, departmental records related to resident care, MMDS, and quarterly documentation.
 
Completes rounds on every resident on assigned unit. Notifies physician, nursing supervisor, and family/responsible party of changes in a resident’s status.
 
Monitors nutritional status, including monitoring of the dining room, tray distribution, and documentation of residents’ meals.
 
Maintains infection control standards in and/or on medication room, medication cart, treatment cart and nursing station desk area.
 
Reviews previous shift from the preceding charge nurse. Completes current shift report on the 24 hour nursing report for the oncoming charge nurse.
 
Follows and enforces policies, procedures and standards of facility, pharmacy and federal, state and local regulatory agencies.
 
Assumes leadership in emergency situations, including medical emergencies, until relieved.  Substitutes, as necessary, for the RN Supervisor and the Ambulatory Care Nurse.
 
Performs other duties as assigned.
 

Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required.
 
TRAINING: Annual CPR certification is required.
 
EXPERIENCE: Two years previous nursing experience highly desirable.  Previous experience with gerontological nursing practice preferred.
 
OTHER: Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse of Licensed Practical Nurse in Maryland.  Minimum of 18 years of age.  Strongly urged to receive Hepatitis B vaccine. Must receive an annual influenza vaccination. Must adhere to RPP’s  smoke-free campus policy.
 
Maintenance Mechanic

Hours:  

Full Time

Responsibilities:

Follows appropriate safety precautions, is familiar with emergency preparedness
   plans and is compliant with Roland Park Place policies/procedures regarding 
   reports of employee accidents/incidents.
 
Electrical – Performs minor electrical and repair work in wiring switches,
    outlets, plugs, cables.  Inspects electrical wiring for unsafe conditions.
 
Plumbing – Identifies and assist with repairs of plumbing leaks or breaks; open
    clogged lines and drains.  Replaces washers and other minor parts.
 
Painting – Patch and paint any minor repairs throughout facility, repair small 
   wall coverings
 
Grounds – Assist with maintaining our grounds in the absence of our grounds
    person and work outside in bad weather (snow) to keep property clean and safe
    for residents and staff.
 
Makes daily floor checks and replaces light bulbs, ceiling tiles as needed.
 
Performs preventative maintenance as assigned work orders require
 
 Assist with checking air conditioners and equipment for proper operation before
     turning over to outside contractor.
 
Change filters on routine work orders and clean HVAC equipment the proper
     way.
 
Must be able to participate with on call schedule and carry cell phone after
     hours and weekends.
 
Participates in Emergency preparation, does facility contingency plans, such as
    fire and disaster, evacuation of resident, visitors and staff.
 
Does not work on any major equipment/leaks until communicated with Director
    (ex. Cutting walls, pipes, etc)
 
Complete work orders quickly and effectively first time
 
Performs other duties as assigned
 
 

Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED required.
 
Must have the ability to learn mechanical functions.
 
3-5 years experience working in general carpentry and maintenance or as a maintenance helper required.
  
Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Minimum 21 years of age. Must be able to carry a cell phone and respond in a timely manner from 4:30pm to 8:00pm Monday thru Thursday and weekends from 4:30pm Friday to 8:00am Monday when assigned in rotation with other mechanics.
