Geriatric Nursing Assistant (Part-time)

Brief description of the job responsibilities:
 
A. Provides direct care for residents by bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, and maintaining hygiene
 
B. Maintains a safe environment for residents by ensuring that call lights are within reach of residents; response to call-light is prompt and completing rounds to check on residents.
 
C. Observes resident well-being by taking, documenting and reporting changes in vital signs, blood pressure, weight, and reporting to Charge Nurse any observed change in resident’s condition.
 
D. Encourages residents’ participation in structured activities.  Transports residents to/from activities or appointments.  Supervises residents during functions as required.
 
E.  Prevents cross-contamination of residents by careful hand washing and use of                                                universal precautions in all patient care activities.

Responsibilities:

A. Follows all Roland Park Place and Dining Service Department rules and policies, including sanitation guidelines.
 
B. Performs all assigned opening duties in accordance with the wait staff training manual and posted assignments.
 
C. Provides service to residents in accordance with the wait staff training manual.  Duties include:  presenting menu, answering questions, and observing diners to respond to additional requests and determine when meal is completed.
 
D. Resets tables for next meal and performs all closing duties in accordance with the wait staff training manual.
 
E. Completes room service and pick up orders as required.  Assists in the set up of special functions when needed.
 Performs other duties as directed by managers on duty.
 
F. Performs other duties as assigned.

Activities Assistant

Responsibilities:

Looking for a dynamic and energetic candidate to assist with planning, implementation and evaluation of residents' daily activitiy programs in the Roland Park Place health care center as well as trips, parties and special events. Must be able to serve as group leader, when assigned, with energy and enthusiasm. Will be required to help with set-up and clean up of program areas, organization of program supplies, direction of volunteers and escorting residents to and from activities.

Qualifications:

A team player with two or more years in a geriatric setting (ie. long term care, retirement community or adult day care center) preferred. High School Diploma or GED required. Must be able to read, write and speak English.

This person will have several years of experience in plumbing, painting, heating and air conditioning. This position requires flexible, scheduled hours based on the need of the organization. The individual selected must carry a company provided cell phone. Food expediters communicate orders and information between the front of house and back of house, making sure that food is cooked in the right order, quickly, and presented to the customer as beautifully as possible. Expeditors make sure the orders are being cooked in a timely fashion, so that all orders for a table are ready at the same time and make sure that once the food is cooked, servers run food to the table while it's hot and ready. They explain special orders to the cooks, and tell servers when the kitchen is out of a particular menu item
 
Expediters are also in charge of the final presentation of the plate, making sure it is dressed and garnished correctly and free from smudges or spills

RN - Health Services

Hours:  

Part Time

3:00pm to 11:00pm

every other weekend

Responsibilities:

Prepares, monitors and supervises the assignments of non-licensed nursing personnel.  Oversees operations and activities of nursing services on assigned unit.
 
Prepares, administers and documents all relevant data for medical records, departmental records related to resident care, MMDS, and quarterly documentation.
 
Completes rounds on every resident on assigned unit. Notifies physician, nursing supervisor, and family/responsible party of changes in a resident’s status.
 
Monitors nutritional status, including monitoring of the dining room, tray distribution, and documentation of residents’ meals.
 
Maintains infection control standards in and/or on medication room, medication cart, treatment cart and nursing station desk area.
 
Reviews previous shift from the preceding charge nurse. Completes current shift report on the 24 hour nursing report for the oncoming charge nurse.
 
Follows and enforces policies, procedures and standards of facility, pharmacy and federal, state and local regulatory agencies.
 
Assumes leadership in emergency situations, including medical emergencies, until relieved.  Substitutes, as necessary, for the RN Supervisor and the Ambulatory Care Nurse.
 
Performs other duties as assigned.
